The Arizona Diamondbacks placed infielder Tony Abreu on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left wrist on Tuesday and recalled Ryan Roberts from Triple-A Reno. The move is retroactive to Monday. Abreu injured his thumb in Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays when he tried to tag out Jose Molina in the fifth inning.
