Miguel Montero and Diamondbacks agree at $5.9M

Arizona and catcher Miguel Montero have agreed to a $5.9 million, one-year contract, just ahead of the scheduled start of what would have been the first salary arbitration hearing of the year. The deal Tuesday was $200,000 below the midpoint of the $6.8 million he had asked for and the $5.4 million Arizona had offered.
