A very bad inning in the eighth inning caused the Arizona Diamondbacks to lose to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. The Red Sox scored four runs in the eighth inning with two single and a double as they came back and beat the Diamondbacks 5-4. Tough way to lose a game, hopefully the D-backs can bounce back and get a victory on Wednesday.
Doug Davis had only given up one run until the eighth inning when he was charged with two more runs. Davis pitched seven innings and really did well up until that eighth inning when he wasn’t able to record an out in the game. Chad Qualls then came in with two runners on in the eighth inning and gave up four hits and allowed four runs to score. Two were charged to Davis, and the other two were charged to Qualls. Tony Pena finally recorded the final out in the eighth inning.
Chad Tracy supplied all the offense for the Diamondbacks as he had a rbi single in the second inning and then a three run home run in the third inning. Tracy had all four rbi for the Diamondbacks as the rest of the offense just couldn’t get things going.
