Max Scherzer made his Major League debut for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night, the only problem was that the Diamondbacks were already down 6-0 when he entered the game.  Starting pitcher Edgar Gonzalez only lasted 2.2 innings as he gave up eight hits and six runs to put the Diamondbacks in a quick 6-0.

That is when the D-backs called on Scherzer to hold the deficit at six, and that is exactly what he did for 4.1 innings.  Scherezer struck out seven Astros batters and did not allow a hit or a walk.  That is lights out no matter if it is your debut, or your 1000th time in a game.  Great job Mr. Scherzer.

Conor Jackson led the Diamondbacks at the plate with three RBI.  Jackson had a two run home run and then a groundout that scored a run in the game.  Miguel Montero also had a RBI single in the seventh inning.

The Diamondbacks just couldn’t come back from that 6-0 hole they were put in early in the game.  I wonder how long before Scherzer is in the starting rotation?  Any guesses?
